Parents it’s time to have the ‘S’ talk with your children

David Boyle, Head of Sales and Marketing at Mint Asset Management Limited shares some of his advice in this stuff.co.nz article on why it is important to talk to our children about the cost of living we are all currently experiencing and why we cant “just buy it” right now.

Right now is the right time to talk to your children about saving money, spending less and how they can support you along the way.

I don’t need to tell you why, it’s pretty obvious right? We are on the doorstep of a recession, if not already wiping our feet on the welcome mat. The cost of living is going up and it feels like it’s never going to stop. That’s why, if you have children or teenagers, now is a good time to sit them down and share the impacts that inflation is having on your disposable income.
