More 'BNZ' text scam victims come forward over that 'stupid thing'

BNZ have warned customers to be hyper vigilant and not to respond to texts or give out personal details when receiving these text message scams.

Following on from Queenstown woman Savannah Jackson’s loss of $42,000 through one of the BNZ fake texts, several more customers of the bank have come forward sharing their financial strife.

Jackson received a text message from what she thought was a BNZ number on June 22, opened the text link, logged in with her bank password and instantly saw money being transferred from her account.

A reminder to be vigilant when receiving texts or phone calls from “Banks”

Banks wont ask you for your personal details via text message so always contact your bank to double check if you are unsure.
